Criw Celf

Criw Celf is a project for young people aged between 12 and 18 from North Powys who have been identified as being able and talented in the visual arts.  It is part of a national initiative to nurture young talent in Wales. The participants come together around seven times a year to work with professional artists, to visit exhibitions and an university fine art department.

Criw Celf is a project for talented young artists between 11 and 18 years of age.  It is part of a national scheme to nurture young talent in the visual Arts and is funded by the Arts Council of Wales.  We hold up to 6 events a year, which take place on Saturdays or in school holidays.  We avoid key revision and exam times.

Criw Celf events include workshops with professional artists, exhibition and university fine art department visits and events to learn about careers in the arts.  Most of our programme takes place at Oriel Davies Newtown, and transport is provided for visits to other locations.

A fee of £35 is payable which includes the costs of all activities, materials and trips.  Free places are available to successful applicants who are eligible for free school meals. We are friendly, welcoming and bilingual and are an equal opportunities project.
