The Test Bed programme runs alongside the main exhibition programme at Oriel Davies and is dedicated to showcasing new and experimental emergent work from Wales and the Borders.

Test Bed occupies its own dedicated space at the Gallery, but also acts as a ‘conceptual space’ for artists to develop and show work that has a life beyond the physical constraints of the Gallery.

Artists who have shown work as part of the programme* include Gaia Persico, Toby Huddlestone, Akiyo Yamamoto, Matthew Wood, Sue Challis , Melissa Hinkin, Ian Giles, Digital Dialogues, Bela Kerr, Elen Bonner, Alex Duncan and Adele Vye.

*In 2009, the programme, which was originally called In Focus, changed it’s name to Test Bed to more accurately represent the opportunities Oriel Davies provides for experimental and emergent work.

If you are an artist who would like to be considered for a Test Bed exhibition, please download submission details >.
