Heritage Lottery Fund supports Carnival Reminiscence Project

March 2011—The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a grant of £20,500 to Oriel Davies Gallery for it’s ‘Carnival Memories’ project. Oriel Davies has devised the project which targets people of 60 plus, resident in Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire, along with volunteers of all ages, to find and collect oral histories and written accounts relating to local fairs, festivals and carnivals in days gone by. The project gets under way in March with the recruitment of volunteers. more >

Pathways Seminar a success!

November 2010—The Pathways Seminar which looked at Young Curators & Youth Programmes in the Visual Arts was hosted by Oriel Davies on October 29 and was a great success. It was attended by groups and delegates from across the UK. more >

TestBed Internship 2011

October 2010—Oriel Davies Gallery is looking for a graduate or postgraduate to curate and manage the TestBed space at Oriel Davies, with support from the Gallery Curator. The purpose of TestBed is to support new and experimental work by artists based in Wales and the Borders. This position is an excellent introduction to working in a contemporary public art gallery.
