a group of talented young artists

March 2019 is a very special time for a group of talented young artists in North Powys, with two exhibitions of work by past and current Criw Celf participants taking take place at Oriel Davies. The exhibitions will be officially opened by Louise Wright of The Arts Council of Wales, on Saturday 9th March at 3.15, in a special event with the young artists, their families and friends. more >

Sophie Kumar-Taylor

Flexuous is a specially commissioned artwork by Sophie Kumar-Taylor. This Criw Celf commission celebrates Sophie's accomplishments as an early career artist and provides her with an opportunity to create a site-specific piece at Oriel Davies, the largest and most significant visual arts venue in the region, and a key gallery of Wales. more >

Cartographic Imaginaries: Interpreting the Literary Atlas of Wales
Group Exhibition

Cartographic Imaginaries presents an inspiring collection of commissioned artwork in response to twelve English language novels set in Wales. These form part of the wider Literary Atlas of Wales project, which investigates how books and maps help us understand the spatial nature of the human condition. More specifically it explores how English language novels set in Wales contribute to our understanding of the real-and-imagined nature of the country, its history, and its communities. more >

Creu // Make is an exhibition that explores contemporary craft products made by Makers from all corners of Wales, using traditional rural crafts including; pottery, weaving, chair making, textile art, wood work and more. Wales has a strong tradition of craft skills, which draws on our history as a place that makes stuff.
